Curriculum Vitae (C.V.)
I am an entrepreneur, roboticist, and executive. I am currently exploring new startup ideas and on the board of several companies ranging from AI, healthcare, and diversity. I am a Cofounder and Board Member of drive.ai, an artificial intelligence self-driving vehicle startup.
I fell in love with robotics and AI over 15 years ago. I am an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. I was researching strategies for improving human and robotic interaction and was the youngest member on the IEEE Robotics and automation board. From 2004-2011, I did my graduate academic research and was an instructor of intersession courses at Johns Hopkins University. I have eight technical patents, and am the author of more than a dozen papers published in various scientific conference proceedings, refereed journals and conferences. My interests are in building products – my experience is in a variety of highly regulated applications such as space, underwater and medical. I worked on product for the da Vinci system at Intuitive Surgical, and as a software engineer at Lockheed Martin and GE. Most recently in 2015, I cofounded and was President of a self-driving car startup drive.ai. I led company strategy and raised over $77M, building partnerships with Lyft, Grab, governments and automotive companies.
Alongside my engineering career, I have been an active leader in the robotics and maker community. I am also very involved in being a voice for diversity and those underrepresented in tech. I previously served on the boards of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, JHU Engineering Diversity Council, and Santa Clara University’s Computer Engineering Board to name a few.
For my work, I have been on the cover of MAKE magazine; been named one of Forbes 25 top women in AI, Inc Magazine’s Most Innovative Female Founders; been profiled in Harpers Bazaar, Wired and other media outlets.
